Pitbulls URGH!

Last Thursday I went to put my trash out and the neighbor had his pitbull in the front yard.....with no leash. I? Was beyond pissed, so naturally I had to say something. By the end of our "conversation" which was me talking and him smirking I was shaking I was so angry. I could have slap that smirk right off his effing face. I told him that since we weren't going to be moving as soon as I had hoped that I could no longer stay quiet about the pitbull being off it's leash. I told him that someday he is not going to be able to catch the dog when he runs. At that very moment the dog rushed at me and he caught him. I raised my eyebrows and said simply "see". Then I told him that I was not going to call the MP's or housing THIS time but I was warning him that next time I would. I can not and will not take this kind of chance with my children. It's against the law and he will be held accountable from now on.

So fast forward to the next afternoon, Kale and I are IMing while he is at work. He casually mentions the neighbor had some SSG email one of the 1SG down in Cuba and that Kale had been "talked" to about me by his Commander. I was not happy, so mad in fact I was ready to be confrontational with the neighbor. Kale begged me not to and said he would clear this up. The next night he talked to the 1SG who was emailed and asked what was up. He said that this SSG who had left Cuba a couple of mths before (he thinks he's more important than he is and Kale says he's a POS) and complained that I was harassing the neighbor about his dog. *Yeah, cause talking to the three times when the dog is OFF the leash constitutes harassment*. The 1SG said he didn't know what the guy thought he could do, that A) they can only get Kale in trouble if I am doing something illegal and B) they agree with me 100% on this issue. The Commander had just misunderstood the situation and is now in full agreement with us. I was just so angry this weekend about this, I could hardly see straight. There is nothing that can officially be done to reprimand these two guys causing trouble, but they were both going to be yelled at.

Now I am just waiting to get pics and video of the damn thing off it's leash. Next time I see it I will be calling the police and housing. Which I already warned housing on Friday that I was angry and that they were letting the dog loose. Hopefully they will at least heed my warning and keep it on the leash.

Sigh....

I had a pretty good morning, okay I am lying it wasn't that good. I went to the commissary before naptime, I had to because Kale was calling me at noon and I needed food for lunch. If I waited until after naptime then I wouldn't have enough time before he called to get there and back. If I waited until after he called I would be too hungry.

The point is I had to go during the time Delilah normally naps, thus pushing her nap back an hour. Fun. She was grumpy and Sophia was being three. Smothering Delilah, getting in Delilah's face, and grumping when I scolded her or asked her to stop. By the time we checked out I was done. Alas, that was not the end of my fun filled day.

I had a good few hours while the girls napped, first Delilah then Sophia. Kale called we talked for awhile and soon after that he got online and we talked there too. In between talking to him I cleaned up the downstairs. Lilly's friend V was coming home with us before Girl Scouts and I am not one to leave my house untidy while there are visitors even if they are 9yr old girls.

Just before we were leaving for school my mom's ex-secretary called. Her daughter J goes to the same school as the girls and she was running behind, asked if I could pick her up and take her home with me. Fine, not a big deal as long as she was picked up before Girl Scouts. Normally it wouldn't be an issue on Girl Scout night but tonight was Aidan's investiture ceremony. Well, as you can guess by how rotten my day has gotten been so far, that she wasn't there to pick her up before the meeting. I waited even longer than I normally would wait to leave. That caused me to be late, which as I have said before, makes me panic. During the ceremony J was fine, Sophia and Delilah wouldn't sit still but were quiet. We left as soon as the ceremony was over and they grabbed a quick snack. At this point I realized I left my phone in the car and J's mom had been calling and calling, she was lost. I told her just to meet me at my house. J went home and we left to go to BK.

After all of that I didn't want the hassle of cooking. I order our food, pay, and leave. Get to Lilly's Girl Scout house and realize they only gave me half of my dinner. Great, just great. Delilah was crying at this point and Sophia is three and has no VOLUME CONTROL anymore. Everything she says is said in a very LOUD annoying WHINE. I run in and grab Lilly even though I am 15mins early. We go back to BK, as we pull in Lilly is insistent she has to pee right that second, I let her out to go in to pee. After that I go back through the drive thru to get my food, the guy insisted he tried to run out to give it to me, whatever. Then I go fill up the van since gas is probably go up before the weekend and then we head home.

I pull in and as we get out our very lovely pitbull loving neighbors are getting ready to walk their now ear cropped pitbull puppy. As Lilly and Sophia walk past him he goes to the end of his leash growling and gnashing his teeth. And she said he's "a good dog". Trash, that's all they are is trash. (Don't read into it as all pitbull owners are trash, these people however are trash).

And now I am dealing with the loud, whiny, screech of a certain three year old that is going to bed at 6pm tonight.

Hope your day was better.

Friday, August 22

What did you do at 6am, in complete darkness?

Want to know what I did?

Woke up to a baby who had soaked her diaper, clothing, and bedding. Had to strip her down, give her a bath, strip her bed, remake her bed, get a new bottle ready, get her out of the bath, dry her off, dress her, lay her back down, and pray she went back to sleep. I had to do all of that in complete darkness or risk waking her up all the way. Thankfully she did go back to sleep and let me sleep in until 8:30am.

My neighbors pit bull puppy has been wandering in and out of my yard the last few days. Makes me so happy. It's driving Kuddle, our dog, completely insane. And on top of being in our yard yesterday, with his own following right behind him, he also pooped in my yard. I tapped the window to get his attention and called out "Could you please keep your dog out of my yard from now on, he's driving my dog crazy!" To which he mumbled, uh yeah um alright.

My cat, who is a large 20lb black cat of an unknown age, is throwing up a large amount the last two days. I am worried about her, at first they were hairballs, normal since she is a very long haired cat. Now it's just white stuff. I am afraid she is sick and/or dying. We have had her for a little over 7 years and her previous owner said she was around 3-4, so she is no young kitty anymore. I am going to take her to the vet while my mil is here, but until she can go she will be spending her days in the garage. Poor kitty, I love her, but I can't have her throwing up all over my floors, we have carpet. My kids would be happy if she passes, they want new kittens and I told them they had to wait until she was gone. They always say "I don't want BC to die, but I want kittens." I hope she will be alright and live on a few more years, but right now I am not so sure.

It's not a good day for me. Plus I have to go to parent teacher conferences today, Rosy is coming to watch the little girls while the big girls and I go. So I will be a big ball of nerves, not because of what the teachers might say, more because I have to socialize with every Tom, Dick, and Harry (more like three ladies names, since mostly only mommies come to these things). At least I don't have to take all of my children with me. I really don't have to take any of them, but the other kids go and they talk while the parents are in with the teacher. My kids are into the social scene, so they will go.

Hope everyone has a better day than I am.

My High Horse

There are very few things I am absolutely opinionated about to the point where I will argue my point to the death. I am obviously opinionated about many things, but I am mature enough to accept other peoples point of view and value their opinion as much as my own. Except for this one subject........DOGS!

To be more specific, dogs that have been found to be vicious. I will never own any of these three breeds; pit bulls, rottweilers, or dobermans. I understand that not every single one of these dogs is going to kill someone or even hurt someone, but for me the risk is just not worth it. I can not be that irresponsible with my children. Why am I getting up on my high horse today? Because I walked outside this morning and noticed my new neighbors have a brand new puppy. I knew it was a pit bull, I can spot one from a mile away. So can my children, adult ones that is. Puppies they can't tell, so they were asking what kind it was. I say to my neighbor (I am sure I had a very uneasy and a look of disdain on my face, you can read me like a book by looking at my face.) "It's a pit bull, right?" I know I had a tone, I tend to do that when I am not in the best of moods. "Yes" she replied. "Great, just great!" I replied back. And she started in with "we can have him adjust to the kids now" and "he's not bad at all." Yeah lady you will never convince me of that. 1) My kids will NEVER go near a pit bull. 2) My dad is an EMT and has run way too many kids whose face, arm, finger, etc has been ripped off by "Rex" the loving family pit bull who was raised from a puppy with the child. 3) Yeah, he's "not bad"......YET.

No they don't have children and it's their right to own whatever vicious creature they wish, within the rules of our housing contract. So I can't do a damn thing about the dog living next door to me. I even called housing to make sure it wasn't against the rules to own them on post. Unfortunately they have a policy that only bans creatures that have already maimed children, pets, or adults. Now I will just take comfort in the fact that we should be moving very soon to Senior Enlisted housing and away from all this mess. I know I either hurt her feelings or angered her, I really don't care. My number one job is to take care of my children and I am pretty sure letting them get bit or eaten by a dog would constitute a failure on my part.

Now pit pulls are the worst in my opinion. I don't care for rots because they have a rep, but I am not as vigilant about them. Dobies are another story, I was nearly attacked by my uncles as a child. It chased me down the hall and I had to stand on the back of the couch to get away from her until my uncle could grab her. It wasn't long after that she attacked my 4 year old cousin and they had her put down. Now my cousin (the brother of the one attacked) owns 2 dobies. The male is nice enough and seems to be harmless. The female however is a viscous beast that almost bit Aidan on the face. His fiancee has already warned him they will go when they have children, smart girl in my opinion. My aunt still doesn't think they are a threat, but in her own admission Aidan was doing nothing but trying to pet the dog when she tried to bite her. My dad has already warned my aunt the children are to NEVER go around those dogs again. He is even more passionate about this subject that I am. But most people would probably be that same way if they have seen what he has in his 20+ years of being an EMT.

My motto is "I don't trust a big dog with no tail."

Anyone is welcome to disagree with me, but they will never change my mind. If you own one, fine by me, my children will just never be around it. I am opinionated about this, but I still respect other peoples rights to own these dogs. I just personally choose not to put my family at risk. I will climb down off my high horse or step down off my soap box, whichever you prefer. :P

Sunday, August 3

This Weekend....

So...... I spent way too much money this weekend. But it mostly went to Lilly's birthday celebration, so I can hardly complain about it. I will start with Friday though and move along to know, lots happened this weekend. Friday I spent my morning shopping, I know SHOCKING! I had coupons and gift checks that needed to be used and had to find a pair of tennis shoes for Aidan before school starts. Did I mention it starts next week? :P

I headed out first to get my new contacts. I have this weird thing with my eyes where protein builds up on my lenses and I miss read the directions on my bottle of cleaning fluid. My eyes feel soooo much better now. While we were waiting in the optometrist's office an older lady was gushing over the girls. It's always nice to hear how cute they are, what beautiful names they have, and well behaved they are, even if they are bouncing around like kangaroos on crack.

After I paused long enough to put my new contacts in, we headed off to The Legends. It's an open air strip outlet mall. I went to Carter's first where I got Delilah's fall wardrobe (most of it) at a really decent price. If I paid sticker price I would have spent around $118, if I paid the sale price I would have paid $68, I paid $48. For that price I got two long sleeve 2 piece outfits, a short sleeved/long pant 1 piece outfit, a set of 5 onesies, a set of 3 onesie shirts, and a pack of 2 pants to go with the onesie shirts. Then we had lunch at Panera Bread, which was packed. Delilah begged and fussed for food the entire time. I kept giving it to her and she kept shoveling it in, boy is she a good eater. After lunch we went to the Stride Rite store where I found tennis shoes for Aidan for $19.99. Our last stop was Gymboree where I spent far too much money and didn't quite get as good a deal as in Carter's. But for Gymboree it was a good deal. I got 3 long sleeve shirts for $8.99 each, a short sleeved shirt for $8.99, and a sunflower outfit for Delilah that I paid probably $25-$30 for, I can't recall now exactly how much. It's cute though and makes a perfect fall outfit, maybe she'll wear it to the Applefest, if it's not too hot (which it will be).

After that store my patience (and pain killers) had worn thin. It was time to go. As I was walking to the car Rosy was calling to say she was meeting me there. I politely had to bow out, I had been there for a couple of hours already and was DONE. I had asked her to meet me there earlier but she couldn't. We went to my mom's to wait for her to get off work as she was riding with us to pick Lilly up and then we were all going to get my dad at the airport. When we got to the camp Lilly was wearing her PJ's, she said she ran out of clean clothes because it rained so much. I was not fond of her walking around in her PJ's and was even less fond of the idea when we found out my dad's plane was delayed. To kill time we went to the new JCPenney's and Target (where Patience now works). My mom tried to convince me people would just think she was wearing a short set, but I was still not thrilled with the whole thing. Then we were 5mins late getting my dad and he threw a small hissy. He's such a girl sometimes. :P

We went back to their house so they could feed us. Then we went home where the girls had showers and went to bed. Saturday morning came far to soon for me. Delilah decided to wake us up at 6:00am and we all know how much I love that. At least her pooping went back to normal but why does it always happen The.Day.After.The.Doctors.Appointment? So not cool. I had to be up anyways on Saturday, even though I didn't want to be. I started the morning by giving Delilah and Sophia a bath while I shaved my legs in the sink (TMI?). Then while they were all having breakfast I showered. I rushed them to get dressed, teeth brushed, and shoes on so we could be out the door by 8:30am. Just as I got off post I realized I forgot the gift cards to Chuck E Cheese, had to turn around and go back for them. Got to my mom's early enough to print coupons for CEC, then we headed out to pick up V (who lives around the corner from my parents, how cool is that?).

We arrived at the mall in time to potty before Club Libby Lu opened. We were the first appointment of the day and had undivided attention for quite awhile. The girls had a blast, as always. It was V's first time so she had so much fun. I didn't like the song they choose to dance to though and the girl didn't have it nearly loud enough. So we didn't get a repeat of Aidan's previous performance that my mom's camera killed. But after $150 they had fun and it was time to eat lunch. I had to stop for -er- "supplies" for my current predicament, since I am always forgetting such "supplies" at home. My mom said I must have a years supply as often as I forget and have to purchase more. But I bought the wrong ones, so that sucked. They work, but aren't my favorite.

CEC was next. That place gives me a headache. All the yelling you have to do for people to hear you. I am NOT a fan of having to yell for 2 hours straight. We allowed Lilly and V to go off on their own, as long as they stuck together, which they did. My brother, Rosy, and Alan stuck together. And Mariana a former exchange student (Rosy's friend) was visiting with them and she took Aidan around. I took Sophia around and my poor mom (she hurt her neck on Friday moving furniture at work) she stayed at the table with Delilah. Sophia had the most tickets (well except for Rosy) she had over 300. Rosy had over 600. We finally started to head home at 2pm. Stopping only for gas and frozen custard. I dropped V off, then my mom, and we headed home. It was early bedtime for the younger girls.

THIS morning I was awakened at 6:15am with a poopy diaper I didn't realize was poopy when I tried to change it in the crib. So my day started off with bathing Delilah, again. I was wide awake, as was she, after that. I came down stairs, feed her, and started laundry. At 8am when she was ready for her nap I went to put her in the crib and ants had infested it, in the 2hrs since I had woke up! I was not pleased. I laid her down in Sophia's room, in the pack n play, that's where Alan sleeps when he is over. Then I got to work, found out they were coming in my window (2nd story window nonetheless), I killed them all with Raid aerosol spray. It about killed my lungs, I was coughing so bad. Then I wiped down the walls with Lysol and cleaned her mattress with Lysol. By then I figured I might as well clean my sheets and such too, so I stripped my bed also. I haven't seen another ant in that room since, thankfully.

After that mess I was sweaty and hot, so I showered. Then I got everyone ready to go. We had lunch at my mom's before taking the kids to Jason & Rosy's. They stayed with Jason while mom, Rosy, and I went to my cousin's bride's shower. It was okay. Their house stunk like cat litter though and it took about an hour for my nose to become accustomed to the smell. We played a few games, in which I found out how very little I know about her. I didn't even know her age and they have been together for four years. Maybe I should get to know her, I never did before because I never thought they'd stay together. They had many problems the first couple of years. We left after the games were over and presents were opened, we didn't even eat cake. It didn't look very good, white cake with white frosting not my favorite.

Since we have been home I have done some housework and ordered some fun things from Etsy. DAMN K! For showing me that website. I have ordered Delilah a birthday dress and bib. I ordered a bow holder and a paci clip for Alan. Now I am just browsing, I cut myself off for a little while. :P

So that was my weekend......how was yours?

Some Unfinished Buisness

Jenn asked for a picture of my "new" couch awhile ago, like over a month ago when I purchased it. I am just now getting around to taking and posting pictures of it.

Please ignore the pile of clean laundry, I know I am. :P
Damn that wall is bare! It used to house everything on the opposite wall, but I get bored and move things around every few months. I really should put it back, but I really can't now, the couch works perfectly in that corner and won't on the other wall.

Also ignore the cat fur on the chaise, that's BC's favorite spot and I forgot to vacuum there when I vacuumed today.

K brought me a wonderful present from her sil Marie from Memarie Lane. I had dumped a bunch of my baby clothes off on her, I mean gave, I gave a bunch of baby clothes to her. :P I am just glad they can go to a good home where they are wanted, needed, or appreciated. I spent a ton of money on baby clothes and it's nice to know who they go to, usually I just give them to Goodwill. And as a nice surprise, totally unnecessary but appreciated nonetheless, she sent a bunch of her handmade hairbows to me. Aren't they just the cutest? You can't really appreciate the cuteness with out clicking on the picture for the original size.

Today is going to be busy and stressful, I am taking Aidan and Sophia to the dentist. Aidan has major dental issues, not cavities, but a narrow palette with extra teeth. We will find out exactly how many extra teeth she has and discuss the plan of action. Her dentist has previously told us it's going to take years to fix her problems and cost us $3000 out of pocket. Lucky us. I had a narrow palette too, but we had it spread with a retainer. My dad had extra teeth but my grandma said they fell out on their own, weird. I swear to you the first visit we had with the dentist he kept saying "Huh, I have never seen this before" or "Huh, this is interesting." Not good things to hear from the dentist. I am not looking forward to this visit, he is doing a panoramic x-ray of her mouth, insurance only allows two of these in your lifetime. You know what the worst part of this all? It had to be Aidan, the most dramatic, unreasonable child we have. Wish me luck!

Hidden Hollow: We should have left it hidden

Sophia likes to be a big girl

Delilah spent 30 minutes in the baby swing

She loved every minute of it

Lilly and Grammie swung together

This was part of the "petting zoo" the kids we put in the rabbit hutch to pet the bunnies
Only one baby bunny would let them touch it
Sophia didn't want to get out, she was chasing all the rabbits

The lone bunny they could pet

Happy Girl

I was impressed Aidan would do this

Sophia had fun

Although the children had fun, we will not return to Hidden Hollow. Judy and I went exploring to find it, she had read about it before and seen commercials. We paid $20 essentially to play on a playground and pet some rabbits. Not worth the money. They do have a mini golf course and a swimming hole, but we didn't bring stuff to swim in and didn't have time for mini golf. The place was filthy and the people who ran the place were, to put it politely, colorful.

We head home tomorrow morning. I am scheduling a few posts ahead of time, but they will be mainly pictures. Hope everyone has a good week.

Another Example of the White Trash Clan

White Trash Double Stroller
BTW I mean no offense to anyone in anyway, I know that at somepoint in their lives everyone one has done something that another person deems "trashy". I am just poking fun at my MIL's suggestions and ideas. She also has gotten a laugh out of me deeming these ideas "white trash".

Out for our walk last night Sophia could no longer go on walking and I sure as h*ll was not going to carry her, so Judy suggested putting her in front of Delilah. To which I replied "No, I have seen some rednecks (jokingly of course) do it this way." And volia "White Trash Double Stroller"

Happy Father's Day

We spent our father's day in Chattanooga at the Tennessee Aquarium. It was a 2hr drive and on the way Lilly was ill, she ended up throwing up about 18miles from our destination. It was a lovely drive, listening to my children all claim upset tummies, Aidan and Sophia took their cue from Lilly (who was actually ill). They saw me give her gum to chew to try and settle her tummy, so they claimed ill to try and get some. I don't give them gum in my car anymore, not after I found it on the floor barely covered with a straw wrapper. I know it was Aidan, Sophia just swallows it immediately.

After we arrived, parked, figured out the pay booth for the parking lot (my fil is not very good with technology so I had to figure it out for him), and bought our tickets it was 11am. We wandered around the Rivers portion of the Aquarium (it has two separate buildings) then had lunch at TGI Fridays. After lunch we went to a candy shop and a fudge shop but the fudge shop was all out of chocolate peanut butter fudge (damn!) so I got non-pariels instead. Then we went on the the Ocean building and then the girls played in this man-made river thing they had running through the sidewalks in front of the aquarium. They were soaked by the time we left. We finally got home at 6:30pm. Judy fed them dinner and I put the middle two to bed, both under protest. I was able to talk to Kale online, but the kids didn't get to say happy father's day as he ran out of minutes on his phone card, hasn't bought a new one, or hasn't told me how I can call him. I also wasn't able to talk to my dad as my parents are still in Paris until tomorrow. I sent both of them (Kale and dad) messages on MSN, but it's not the same. I know we already celebrated with my dad last week, but it's still not the same. Hopefully Kale will get his cards tomorrow.

Yesterday we went to the Flea Market but didn't stay very long, that's where we got the white trash playpen for $2. It was too hard to push Delilah on the gravel in an umbrella stroller and I didn't bring my big stroller. Judy has one but she bought it at a thrift shop in FL when Lilly was a baby and it looked about 10yrs old then. I hate using it, it's very trashy and I have a hard time with wondering what others are thinking about me when I am out. I don't want to look trashy. It's the same thing I felt when my mil used to call Lilly Henrietta Gertrude in public, it embarrassed me and I would say to her "Don't call her that, people will think that's what I named her!" She gets a kick out of that. After the market we had lunch here and hung out. After awhile Delilah wouldn't nap so Judy and I took her for a walk, just under 2miles up and down hill. I was tired afterwards and Delilah slept most of the way. Delilah finally slept normal last night, only waking up once for a bottle instead of the 3-5times she has been waking up.

Other than that I am missing Kale and ready to be home. Hope everyone had a good day with the father's in their lives.

My poor baby...

She had a couple run ins with the hardwood floor.
Her Grammie decided "When in TN..."
So she bought this blow up pool and tried to use it as a white trash playpen. As you can see it didn't work. But it kept her out of the dog fur for 30mins. I vacuumed that rug and after she escaped she was covered in dog fur immediately, I hate Kirby vacuums. And hers is ancient and broken URGH! K suggested I buy the Dyson I want while I am here and "test it out". If only Kale's extra duty pay had already kicked in...

Life is Never Boring

My baby #2 is officially a 1st Grader
A pleasant surprise, my dad was able to come with my mom and Lele to the graduation. He works so much that he is rarely able to come to things like this. Aidan was hilarious (well she was herself, which is hilarious). She danced and waved vigorously at us the entire ceremony. They started by marching in to a song the name of which escapes me. Then they did the pledge and sang the national anthem. They each said a line, in between each classes lines they sang three more songs. Then the principal Dr. B said a few words, she even wore her doctoral robes, it was so formal. Then they called each child's name and had them pose like the photo above. It was all very cute and cheesy. Afterwards we had a reception on the front lawn, which I remember just before we left that each family was to bring refreshments. We swung by the commissary on the way to the school, so it all worked out.
Tomorrow (Friday) is another fun filled busy day. As I type Kale and I are sitting in folding lawn chairs in our living room. Jason came over earlier to move the couch and chair in the garage in preparation for the new sectional tomorrow. We are very trashy tonight. Jason and Rosy wanted us to pose or a pic so they could post it on our family site. I, of course, refused. They think they are very funny.
Last day of school and my children are wearing outfits Grammie (mil) made them. I? Hate them. Kale? Hates them. The girls? Love them, well of course Grammie made them for them. This time she didn't tell me she was making them until after she had already picked out the pattern and the fabric. I hate the pattern and the fabric is something I would never have picked. But I didn't say anything and they will wear them anyways, even though Kale told me to pretend they were lost in the mail. I will post pics next Wednesday.
Aidan has an eye appointment tomorrow, not a moment too soon. Her glasses were mangled a couple of weeks ago, I fixed them well enough to get her by until the new ones come in. She was rolling down the hill in my parents backyard and slammed her face into the concrete foundation of the house. It gave her a black eye and a pretty good cut, luckily not bad enough to require stitches. The glasses were bent and twisted. They fall down on her nose quite a bit still, some of the paint chipped off, but I fixed them good enough.
Mom, Lele, and I are going to see Sex and the City tomorrow. I was a big fan of the show. I only kept HBO so I could watch it, cancelled it when the show went off the air. That will be fun, I hope. We had to change Worlds of Fun to Sunday. It might rain on Saturday and my mom said Sunday is better for her. Since she's giving up her day to watch all FIVE of her grandchildren, I will not argue with her. Green says it's better for him too, then he can go to his Model UN meeting/dinner thing on Saturday. Plus my aunt said if we go Sunday she and my cousin will join us, she is a ton of fun.
With Kale's departure eminent, we have decided to have his going away family dinner on Wednesday. Only problem is Rosy can't come, she is starting college next week. He picked Famous Dave's to my mother's joy, she loves that place. Everyone but Rosy and Jason love it, they don't like a lot of our favorite places I think they like to be difficult. It will still be tough getting a table, it always is for a family with anywhere from 11 to 15 people eating together. But it's worth it, we enjoy being with each other. I think we look like a freak show when we go out. People ask us "What's the occasion?" we are always puzzled and say "Dinner".
I guess I have rambled for long enough. Hope you have a great weekend, I know we are! :)

Background Info

I will start by telling you a little bit about my aunt. She was adopted, within the family. Her grandfather, my grandfather's uncle, approached my grandparents with the idea for them to adopt my aunt. She hadn't been born yet and her mother was single, struggling, and had two other children to take care of. My aunt's father was long gone and her mother couldn't handle or afford another child. They agreed to take her, even though they had 6 other children, the youngest being 7. They raised her as their own, but she knew she was adopted. How could she not? My mother's siblings are all short, blonde, and have blue eyes. My aunt? Tall, dark brown hair, and deep brown eyes. She loves her family and hates the idea that she is adopted, this could be part of the reason why she is not as keen to the idea of us adopting Noah.

She met her birth mother under the worst circumstances ever. My uncle was killed in a drunk driving accident, an accident he caused. He was only 16 and everyone was understandably devastated. Her birth mother chose his funeral to be the place to introduce herself to my aunt. My aunt was only 10. My father ran her off quickly, but my aunt was already beside herself. She never forgave her birth mother and really who could blame her. Her birth mother had two children that she kept after my aunt was born, so out of five kids, she kept all but my aunt. That has to make a person feel special. When her birth mother died, she didn't care. She didn't go to the funeral and she prefers not to talk about her. She has never wanted to meet her "other" siblings or her father. She would just prefer to be the biological child of my grandparents.

My grandparents were already divorced when my uncle died. They divorced after 28 years of marriage, who does that? My mom was 16, so she didn't take it as rough. My aunt was only 7, so she really took it hard. Not long after the divorce my grandmother remarried, I consider this man my grandfather too. My mom is a wonderful mom, even though she knows that my grandpa is the reason her parents split up (they were having an affair) she never clouded our judgement of him. She allowed us to love him even though she frankly didn't like him. Anyways, he moved in with his three small children, all of them younger than my aunt. There was a lot of jealousy, as to be expected of this kind of arrangement. I am happy to say we have all gotten over this now and pretty much live as a big blended happy family. With the exception of my mom's dad hating my mom's mom and her hubby. And probably vise verse.

My aunt was a wild teenager. After my uncle's death my grandmother ran an airtight ship. Understandably so, she had lost her son to alcohol and didn't want to lose her baby. My aunt was very wild and ended up pregnant with my cousin at 18 and not married. She and my uncle got married, even though they treat each other horribly. Their house is filled with yelling, always has been. They got married and moved in with my grandfather. Eventually they moved in with us in KS. It was a tight fit back then. We had a three bedroom, tiny ranch house with 7 people living in it. I had to give up my room to them, temporarily. They lived in KS with us for awhile, but he was unhappy. So his dad got him a job in MT where they live, so they moved the four of them (by then they had their son too) to MT.

After a few years there, she was so unhappy being so far away from her family they moved again. This time to VA which was still far from PA, but closer than MT. My uncle didn't like when they lived in KS because every time he treated her badly she'd leave him and go to my mom. In MT and VA she had no where to go. Now while they were in MT she was rear ended badly, causing her to have chronic back and neck injuries. She can't work anymore because of her horrific pain. The lawyer they used was a friend of her mil and sucked major ass. He didn't get her any kind of settlement, even though it was the guy's fault and she is truly injured. I am not for sham litigation, but if you could see her, you would know how much it affects her life.

My cousin was allowed major freedoms, but had major limitations. She wasn't allowed to watch R movies or talk shows, but thong underwear at 12? A-Okay. I was appalled when she spent a week with me in MA at age 14, she was wearing skirts that she couldn't bend over in, tops only hookers should wear, and thongs. I knew she was headed in a bad direction. Plus she was so infatuated with this guy she was "seeing" she was on the phone all night to him. I had to unplug all my phone lines and take the batteries out of the cordless, so I wouldn't have to be the "bad guy" with her, I just pretended the phones were down. I didn't think it was appropriate, but I didn't want to be her mother, I am not her mother.

Her mother has never had any control over her, from the time she could walk. I used to babysit her almost every summer day and every weekends during the school year. They let her do whatever and if she threw a fit? She could get whatever she wanted. Her brother is the same way. They raised/are raising spoiled rotten brats. My aunt would threaten them, but never followed through. She yells at them constantly, but they don't listen. But they don't have to, there is no consequence to their actions.

This post is very long, so I will pick it up later.

I guess it was not meant to be...

I e-mailed my aunt to see about what she thought about us adopting Noah. When everything happened last time, she agreed we would be best for Noah. But I knew it would kill her to be so far away from him. They live in MT we live where ever the army sends us. I assured her she would be apart of his life, as his grandmother and that we would make every effort to left him go spend time with her during the summer. I knew she was still torn, but ultimately decided she couldn't raise him. Well then my cousin seemed to straighten up, she got a job again and was taking care of Noah. I could tell my aunt was relieved so I never asked my cousin to give him up to us. Honestly, I am not sure she would have given him to us.

This time my aunt has decided it would be too painful for him to go and doesn't want us to pursue the adoption. If my cousin loses him altogether, my aunt and uncle will assume custody. My aunt is still holding out hope that my cousin will get away from this guy and get some help, eventually regaining custody. I really am not sure she even wants her son, in the beginning I would have said yes she wanted him and in the beginning she was a wonderful mother. Part of her problems are her parents, they have never given her any consequences for getting pregnant at 16. My aunt watched him all day while my cousin was at school, she watched him at night while my cousin worked, she got up with him in the middle of the night cause my cousin "had to get her sleep", and she even watched him on Friday or Saturday nights when my cousin wanted to party. It was ridiculous. It was like saying here have your cake and eat it too. They paid all of her bills and all of his. When she was pregnant she went to the freaking Royalty dance at 8mths pregnant, they had to buy her a special dress, it was GORGEOUS.

There have never been any consequences to her actions, until now. And now? She is paying a HUGE price and personally I feel no sympathy for her whatsoever. And I? Will never forget or forgive what she has done to that poor innocent child, she is lucky nothing bad happened to him. But as usual, her parents are there to take care of him for her, to clean up her mess. Hopefully a couple of weeks in jail will do her some good. She may learn to be a little less selfish and I surely hope she realizes just what she has done and why she was so wrong.

I've been very bad...

I just ordered a camera to keep in my purse, a case, a memory card, and a memory card reader for it. :S

I have a really NICE camera, but it's a Canon Digital EOS Rebel, so it's HUGE. Plus it doesn't take video and the digital video camera I bought sucks. It was cheap, I got it during black friday a couple of years ago. So I got the new camera for those times when I can't or don't want to take my big bulky camera with me.

In other news, Lilly and Aidan had their first soccer games last night. I watched Lilly's with Delilah and Kale watched Aidan's with Sophia. Wednesday we will switch. It was too cold though and now Delilah has a stuffy nose. She's also teething again, which makes her oh so pleasant.

Back to the game. Lilly played goalie for the first 15 mins, she stopped every shot (3) from going in. One of them she stopped with her forehead. It was hilarious. I was very impressed she didn't roll around on the ground crying. She shook it off quite well, not even a tear. The rest of the game she played forward, she did well trying to keep up with the other kids. But she is not a runner, especially for distance. But overall I was very impressed, there is hope she will not become her father's daughter athletically. SIDE NOTE: I would never say any of this near her or around her, I always tell her she is doing great. As long as they try their best I am proud.

I will get the stupid SD card from my mom tonight so I can finally tell about the game.

Oh yeah, my trashy cousin who was knocked up at 16? (I am in no way saying every girls who gets pregnant at 16 or younger is trashy, my cousin just happens to be one that is) Yeah she's in jail. Guess what for? FELONY child endangerment. This is the second time she has been caught by her mother leaving her son alone in the apartment while she and her 33yr old boyfriend went to the bar to drink. First off, she is 19 now and the baby is 2, so she can't drink and he certainly should NEVER be left alone. The first time my aunt caught them leaving him alone she didn't call the cops, so stupid I know. My mom did call anonymously to CPS and report it and they said they'd "look into it". Well that never happened. My aunt kept him for a month and my husband and I were going to try and convince my cousin to let us adopt him.

Well she came back and did a song and dance for my aunt and she bought it. She said she'd keep her eye on them and had been, so we backed off. But this weekend it had been a few weeks since she had checked in the middle of the night, so she did. The house was all lit up with lights, but no one answered. She heard Noah wake up and cry, then fall back to sleep. So instead of calling the cops right then, she was stupid and went to the bar to confront them. She demanded they take her back to the apartment, they did and she took the baby and called the cops. The cops came and arrested them and they have been in jail since Friday night. They saw the judge yesterday and were formally charged with felony criminal endangerment and a misdemeanor child endangerment. Their bond is at $20,000, so she will stay in jail until the trial. My aunt and uncle have temporary custody for 3mths until her trial. I just have no clue where she came from, this is not what my family, HER family is like. Kale wants to try and get the baby again, but I don't know if she would give up rights or if my aunt would agree it's the best, again.

Any opinions or advice?

I.AM.A.FREAK

I know it, I try to hide it, but it's so hard. I have a problem. A shopping problem. Actually I don't really think it's a problem, no one is complaining about my shopping....yet. I buy a lot of stuff and go shopping way too much. Mind you I never shop beyond my means. LIES! Okay, I occasionally shop beyond my means, but that is what credit is for, right? :P Anyways, trust me no one is going hungry, going naked, or going without toys in this house. So the beyond my means part doesn't happen often.

My kids have way too many clothes. Way to many toys. They are way to spoiled, not all my fault. I love clothes and I love having four daughters to dress up. I buy them special outfits for each holiday. Today I bought them each an Easter outfit, to wear after church with Grammie and Pop. Trust me I could not pass up the chance of dressing them to the nines for church, but afterwards they needed "play clothes".

I hate to admit this and I am really trying to improve myself, but I am a Clothes Snob. There, I said it, It's out in the open now. I hate when I see kids (whose parents have more money than my husband and I) dressing trashy. I know the child can't help it, but the parent can. When they choose to give their children Goodwill clothing (nothing wrong with that if you can't afford better) when they have a brand new car, a brand new truck, a brand new Harley, and just bought a house all on dual military salary. It just burns me up to see this happen to children, especially when their parents just choose to have nice things for themselves in lu of decent clothing for their children. I seriously had given away nicer clothes to Goodwill than these girls were wearing. And they had "new" shoes, that didn't even fit. It was very sad for me to see this, especially knowing what I knew about their parents spending habits. They could have all the new stuff and cigarettes daily, but decent clothing for the kids just wasn't in the "budget".

I will get down off my high horse now. I really just meant for this post to be about my shopping issues and all the cute stuff I found today. I love Target.
