I am not sure, but I think my MIL has annoyed me in record time. Normally it takes at least a week for her to wear out her welcome, it only took two days this time. She really does try to be helpful, but helpful in a bitchy "we made her do it" way. I'd rather she do nothing or just help with the kids, give me a break from dealing with my two youngest, and just let me sleep in. She was starting to get a cold yesterday and belly ached in bed until 9am this morning. She was "just so sick", yeah just like I am, only I don't complain. I swear she should have a penis.
I took the three oldest to the doctor this afternoon. Viruses for Lilly and Aidan, ear infection for Sophia (her first one). No meds for any of them. Now it's just Delilah and I until Kale and the three older girls get back from dropping them at the airport (Hallelujah!). Now I can sit, watch what I want (at a manageable decibel), and recuperate for March 15th, when we will be at their house for a few nights on our way to FL.

I feel ya, I can't sleep late when my mom comes, I have to be on my best mommy behavior. If I slack at all it means I'm not a good mom and she'll "hint" at what I need to improve. I don't expect anyone to get up with my kids though, they're mine, not saying that I wouldn't appreciate it though.
Yeah that is true, I shouldn't expect it. But it's hard not to get a little annoyed when she tells us we can and then doesn't let us.
No meds for any of the kids? Even for the ear infection? Man, that sucks!
PS. My own mother would never EVER help with Princess. I wish I could say that she was my MIL so I could hate her!
Nope,no meds. Sophia has never taken them so the doc wanted to wait and see. Especially since she wasn't complaining about them hurting.
That stinks about your mom. My mom is very good at helping. When we lived away from her and she would visit, she would always take them in the mornings so we could sleep. She is an early riser, I am not. Now she keeps the three older girls every Sat. overnight. She won't take babies overnight though, I don't blame her. She will watch them all if we want/need to go out. I am lucky to have her.
I can handle mine for no more than four days. After that she starts to get the idea that she can tell me how to run my family.
