Recent Purchases

We recently came into a little bit of money, which has helped with paying the deductible on the van, buying Lilly's birthday present, paying for her party next weekend, and then I also went out and spent a little of it on some things we "needed".

First thing I bought was a new booster for Aidan. Hers was well past it's prime. If I could have just bought a new cover for it I would have, seems like such a waste to have to buy a whole new seat when only the cover is ruined. Alas, they don't sell just replacement covers that I could find, so a new seat it was. I do like the colors of the new seat though, the brown and purple coordinate well with the interior of the van.

I bought this lovely cake stand for Rosy as a housewarming gift. While we were at my mom's At Home America party she expressed her want for one, but they didn't have any in the catalog. So armed with this knowledge and the desire to purchase her something she wanted rather than something I liked, I found this cake stand on Amazon.com. I also purchased a matching taller dome for taller cakes, but it came in pieces. So now I have to do one of my favorite things to do with children, so to the UPS store to send it back.

I also recently order two of these bad boys. Necessary to keep Delilah out of trouble. I had two similar gates for when Sophia was a baby, but they are worn out. I put them up and they fell down. I like this style better anyways. I was able to get them for 30% and free shipping at Kohls.com. However the first time I ordered them I accidentally had them shipped to my in-laws. I called to fix the shipping address but they only fixed it for one of my three items. The gates were not that item. So she took them back , I re-ordered them, and they should be here tomorrow.

I ordered this from Kohl's too for the same deal as the gates. I needed a new diaper bag, mine is looking rough. I kind of have a problem with changing diaper bags pretty regularly, this is my fourth since Delilah was born.

This is the one item they managed to change the address for when I ordered the gates. I have decided to buy the girls new bedding for Christmas as our gift to them. I saw this for Aidan, it was on clearance, plus I got the 30% off and free shipping. Not too shabby.

This is the one that I really love and want to order for Sophia, but it doesn't match.......

this, her current bed. Kale told me to just buy her a new bed that would match, but I just don't think I can be that wasteful with our money. He really only said it because that was the day I was so upset and he wanted to make me feel better. I know he doesn't ever tell me no anyways, but I still can't justify buying her a new bed just to match bedding I like.

In addition to those things pictured, I have also purchased 6 pair of cargo shorts for Kale. They were only $6.99 a pair at Kohl's with the 30% off, so I couldn't resist buying one in each color available. I also bought 7 packages of Delilah's pacifiers, they were only $2.50 per package with the 30% off so I couldn't resist stocking up. I think I will have plenty of her pacifiers for awhile. Also at Kohl's for the same deal, I ordered 5 reed diffusers to make my house smell pretty. Between the cat and Delilah it can get pretty smelly in here. And then yesterday I finally broke down and bought a Bluetooth because of the study about cell phones and cancer. I don't like it much though, my ears are too small for it to fit nicely. But I am learning to live with it.

Aidan left for Chicago with my parents this morning and Lilly heads to camp this afternoon. For a few days I will only have 2 kids again. Of course they are the two that require the most attention, but at least I won't have to hear any fighting over imaginary pieces of cake.

Lilly's birthday was great. We had a cookout with just family, then presents, and cake. My aunt and uncle blindfolded her and took her to Hallmark to buy a Webkinz of her choice. Green called me 5 times Friday night to have me help him pick out a gift. He finally found a Webkinz for her in the Limited Too, I would have paid good money to see him in that store buying a Webkinz. If you don't know, the Limited Too is a clothing store for little girls and Tweens. He said the girls working there were gushing over him because he told them he was there to buy a present for his niece. Jason and Rosy bought her a backpack for her DS, we of course bought her the DS and a game. My parents gave her a DVD and Mat to learn all the moves from High School Musical. My in-laws sent her a necklace and earrings in her birthstone, ruby. And then I had Aidan and Sophia pick out a Webkinz for her, they choose a snake. She had a really good day and next week will be the real fun, for her. I will post pictures of yesterday on Wednesday.

I have one of those gates, it's awesome. Unfortunately it's too narrow to use in our current apartment, it was perfect for the last one.

I had to buy an extension for one of my doorways, but they didn't have any at Kohl's so I ordered it from Bed Bath and Beyond. I am glad to know it is worth the money.
