Transitions

I hate the transition between seasons. My house is always a wreck and I get so overwhelmed I am crying at the thought of organizing the disaster.

It starts out okay, I think I am going to put all the winter clothes away. Then we have 3 days of freezing weather in a row. So I wait, but I have already drug out all the spring clothes. So between the 4 kids I have 8 wardrobes out at once. I don't have room in my laundry room for all these clothes, so I end up piling freshly laundered clothes on the couch and chair. Moving it only when we have company. And Kale has this horrible habit of putting whatever he doesn't "know where it goes" into the laundry room on the floor. So that room is so full of stuff I don't even want to go in there. Plus right now (and the whole 2 yrs we've lived here) my dryer takes 2-80min cycles to dry ONE load of wash. We thought it was our old dryer when we first moved here, then we bought a new one, THE SAME THING HAPPENED. They have been out here to snake the air vent tube, from the laundry room to the front of the house. They have checked the outlet, the guy said it was fine. But I am not convinced he knows what he is talking about, he probably saw that it was putting out the normal voltage for a regular outlet. Not the voltage a dryer outlet should be putting out, which I think is double.

So I am at my wits end. I am exhausted, I am starting to worry about Kale's impending departure. We have so much to do and so little time left. I want to get everything done, but not kill myself in the process. Sophia is being 2 and driving me bananas. Delilah is being a teething baby, crabby and clingy. I really could just curl up and sleep for a week.

I hope you are having a better day than I.

you are NOT alone!!

I have NO closet space in my house... AT ALL... never mind when I have some winter clothes out and some spring/summer clothes out too. UGH! I have a basement full of laundry waiting to be done up... I have a load on the clothes line already and one in the dryer right now as I type this... and one in the wash too. I have a million more loads to wash. Then I have 2 BIG hampers and two BIG laundry baskets FULL (over flowing) with clean clothes in my bedroom, which were all on the couch before I found out last night that we were getting "surprise" company! I totally understand where you are coming from... and the fact that Kale is going to be leaving soon is what is making this all so much worse for you. :(
I think you should just try to take it one step at a time, one day at a time and get done what you can.
I have two of them being 2 year olds today... and I kept Trevor home too, b/c he had a LONG weekend and I knew he was exhasted so no pre-K for him today... but I'm trying to just pace myself and get done what I can. Tomorrow will be another day! :)
If I lived near you I'd come take the girls so you could have a few hours to yourself to get things done or we could pile all the kids in a room to play together and we could help one another clean/organize and get everything perfect. :)
i hate when my house is a wreck... it makes me NUTS, and grumpy, and on edge and depressed... i really hate it... but I can't help but act/feel that way... I just need to figure out a schedule or routine. something.
but hang in there!! :)
extra hugs today...

Jenn,

Thanks for the encouragement. I will throw my hissy fit, buck up, do my work, and get over it.

I would do the same for you if we lived near each other. :)
