Copious Amounts of Chocolate Needed

And all that chocolate? Eaten, an entire bag of Lindt Lindor Truffle (milk if you are curious). I needed them, all of them. The little orange pills I take to stay balanced were not enough today.

First I took Lilly to the dentist, but since my mom was working and Alan does not feel well, I had to take the other three also. I figured it would be fine, they have a huge play area and video game room. For the most part it was perfectly fine. There was one screaming fit from Sophia when there was an injustice done to her. And I finally let Delilah down to crawl around, the floor seemed pretty clean. It must have been because her legs and feet weren't covered in dirt like they were when she crawled on the floor of the hotel room in Branson. Lilly was in the back for an hour and everything was perfect with her teeth. So we left.

I guess I am a glutton for punishment because I decided to do the school shopping today, With.All.FOUR. Don't ask me why, I guess I just wanted out of the house and to spend some money. First we went to lunch at Applebee's. They were pretty well behaved, Aidan took to long to eat and Sophia didn't eat much, but they behaved. The food wasn't as good as usual, but overall it was a good time. Then we went to Babies R Us where I bought 2 new strollers, because you know I don't have enough. I bought two new umbrella type strollers. One was a Chicco so therefore more expensive and the other was one of their $20 ones they have hanging on a rack. I have my reasons and since they probably won't make sense to anyone anyways, I won't say anything more than the two new strollers will fit well in the van with the Sit N' Stand.

After Babies R Us we went to Target, heading straight to the potty. While in there I had the door flung open, while I was peeing. Aidan tried to pick the lock on a woman in a stall, while I had my back to her. I turned around to find her doing this when the woman said "Honey, someone is in here." So then I made her stand up against the wall while I finished changing Delilah. So yeah, it started out wonderfully. I should have left then and cut my losses. Instead I kept on trucking. Delilah was exhausted, she had only napped for 15mins on the way to North KC. So she was a pleasure. I had the brilliant idea to put her in the Umbroller and to have Lilly push her while the other two sat in the cart. You have no idea (or maybe you do) how exhausting it is to have Aidan walk in the store. The child is slow and deaf apparently, at least deaf to the sound of my voice. And she is a toucher, touching EVERYTHING. SO having her in the cart did help. Once Lilly understood she can't put her head down and RUN with the stroller she was fine pushing Delilah. Even though practically the entire time we were there Delilah fussed. I made it out with nearly everything on their lists and a bunch of stuff not on that list. The chocolate was one of the things NOT on the list. Aidan was like "is this for us?" I told her no, I needed it. She asked why and I said "Because you have driven me crazy and this will help."

After I paid I had to get everyone back in Kale's tiny car and try and fit everything in also. I forgot to empty the trunk, so most of it had to go on the floor board in front of Lilly. Now? I am going to sit and finish drinking the gallon of water needed to help flush some of the chocolate out of my body. And hope Delilah and Sophia nap for a little while longer.

Since I myself own a Sit n Stand, I totally understand the umbrella stroller thing. Sometimes you just don't need that much stroller, but you still need a stroller. Right?

Marie, Yes that is one of my better reasons for getting them. It's a lot easier when, for instance, my mom and I go shopping, to separate the stroller riders incase we go our separate ways. Since there are two of us, then we obviously need two strollers. But when I am alone, I need the Sit n Stand.

Going strollerless is never an option :P

i'm literally lol... not at you. really. with you. I love how you said...

Once Lilly understood not to RUN with her head down while pushing the stroller...

OMG!! This is EXACTLY what Trevor does when he wants to "help" me push the stroller... well a little different... b/c he will push as hard as he can... no matter what, even if I'm pulling back or trying ot hold it as still as I can... he is still pushing away. It makes me crazy.

The other problem I have with stroller pushing is that sometimes Trevor tries to hang on the handle of the damn stroller... and it annoys the shit out of me... don't hang on the handle... and I always get the "I'm NOT!" kind of response. Last night we went to the fair and I had 4 kids trying to hang on the stroller.. UGH! I like to just push it all by MYSELF!! sounding like a bitch or not... it is just easier that way!!

Okay... I'm sort of better now that I have VENTED!! lol But do you have any chocolate left??? ;)

You are either a lot more brave or crazier than I am... I took my three to the Dr.'s yesterday and thought that was rough... but you did dentist... lunch in a resteraunt... and two stores... with FOUR!! (although my three sometimes feel like 17 kids!!)

I'm going with BRAVE!! :) I know the feeling though... sometimes you just need to go some where... and sometimes I like to challenge myself by taking them places by myself... and to be totally honest with you... most times they are a million times better for me then when others are with us... not sure why. Maybe they don't feel like they have to "show off" then, I'm not sure. Usually when friends are over or go some where with us... adult friends I'm talking about... the kids are much worse behaved. IT makes me totally crazy. ugh.

anyway... i'm rambling on and on here...

OH!! before I go though... I had two Chicco strollers and I LOVE them. .they are the best. they fold up and lock and they have a strap to carry them by... and they are like totally awesome!! :) I used one when we took Trevor into the city... it was PERFECT!! But stupidly I sold them both at a yard sale I had... I really wish I hadn't... I could use one now and then for Trevor... even though is is 4 3/4 yrs old, he still gets tired walking and really it isn't much fun to carry him, or have him on Bryan's shoulders all the time. He does pretty good, but just to have it would be nice. I think about doing the "cheap" umbrella stroller for him, but he is 51 lbs and 46 inches, so I think I need the Chicco one again. My husband thinks I'm totally NUTS! We have had 7 strollers. This last one we have now was $800.00 ~ so he is pretty strict with the no more stroller rule in our house. lol

anyway... have a great day!!

Jennifer,
I hate when children hang on the stroller too, you are not alone. I especially hate when they want to stand in front of me and "push", yeah sorry, I don't want nor need your help thank you.

I "challenge" myself too, but it usually never goes my way. They usually act like wild banshees thus driving me nuts requiring me to eat a bag of chocolate. Speaking of chocolate, none left, sorry. :P I literally didn't calm down and relax until the three youngest were in bed.

What stroller do you have that was $800? I am curious. While I have probably spent well over $1000 combined on strollers over the years, I think the most I have spent on one was around $200.

I have a Mountain Buggy double stroller!

And seriously... it was worth every. single. penny... plus!! I can't even tell you. :)

I LOVE MY STROLLER!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

It folds pretty flat... it is a little heavy... but not really any worse than my other double stroller... they sit side by side.. but it isn't any wider than a wheel chair so it can go ANY WHERE!! :) It has reclining seats, seperate from one another, it has a canopy, and a HUGE storage thing underneath... rubber tires, and comes with its own portable pump incase a tire gets a low on air....

It is so easy to push you can push it any where... rocks, sand, gravel, blacktop & tile (of course) and it just goes!! I can push it with one hand so easily that often times I can push the stroller and hold Trevor's hand... and not have to worry about running into other people or things b/c it is easy to manuver (sp?) with just one hand too... it is awesome!!

we were in NJ on vacation and were at a mall having dinner, we were walking around while we waited for a table and I saw this couple pushing this double stroller and I loved how it looked... so I asked them for some info on it and they let me try it out w/ their kids in it... lol it was great. I fell in love instantly and had to have it.

Trevor can fit into it... and he is comfy in it... not as comfy as the girls maybe b/c he is pretty big... but he still fits it... and it still pushes the same... he is almost 46 inches and weights 52 lbs.

You have to check it out... they are just too good to not share...

there are also some similar brands, but we just went with the one we saw, tried out and LOVED. You can also look on eBay for one... they seem to have a great re-sale value... that is also the reason we thought it wouldn't be so bad to spend the big bucks on the stroller, b/c we can always sell it when we are done and get back about 1/2 the money. But once I got it and had my kids in it and have taken it every where, I dont' even care about getting any money back for it... b/c I LOVE IT!!! :)

go check it out!!

Jennifer,

I did look at them and that is an incredible sale, but I can't justify spending that kind of money when Sophia is almost out of strollers completely. If I had known about these before I bought my last four strollers I would have seriously considered it.

Thanks a lot for the information though, I checked out the website and they look great. :)
